Process mining is a discipline that lies somewhere between machine learning and data mining on the one hand, and process modeling and analysis on the other. Three types of process mining can be distinguished in order to discover, monitor and improve real processes. Therefore, its objective is to improve what happens in
reality and not the process models.
The objective of this subject is for students to be able to apply different process mining techniques, in the analysis and improvement of processes, as well as in supporting decision making.
